This particular application required a 1.7" intermediate image with an aspect ratio of 2:1. Physical constraints dictated a challenging opto-mechanical design.

This LUXBEAM® 2000 light engine was built from the following VISITECH building blocks:

In addition to the challenging opto-mechanical design work, the following customizations were made:

  • Formatter functionality in FPGA
  • Software adaptations
  • Input signal electronics board
Using an SVGA DMD (800 x 600) and Osram OSTAR® LED, the brightness of this unit was about 50 ANSI Lumens. Using RGB LEDs, no colour wheel was needed.
