Firmware module for use in bandwidth limited applications, e.g. wireless video links. The ICDT module selects the optimum available compression algorithm for the incoming image material based on the information within the image and the instantaneously available channel bandwidth.
The ICDT module, described visually in the block diagram, gives an outstanding real time visual quality for the user in the receiver even in limited and varying channel capacities.

The ICDT distinguish itself from traditional data transmission schemes described in e.g. the WLAN protocol because it is optimized for real time image and video transmission. Image and video data has different quality demands for the transmission channel than other data.

The ICDT FW module can be implemented in FPGAs or alternatively in Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs)

The ICDT FW module implemented in a FPGA can be combined with several wireless links using e.g the 2.4 GHz or 5.8 GHz ISM band, or even UltraWideBand (UWB) wireless links. Most known video standards and formats can be interfaced.
