VISITECH engineers have developed multiple firmware routines to be used in various applications. Most firmware routines are developed in VHDL and can be implemented in FPGAs or ASICs.
The FW building blocks range from data and control signal interfaces to advanced image processing modules. If real time processing is a key in the application combined with high speed and multiple processes, FW routines in a FPGA or ASIC is a superior choice.
Current firmware building blocks:
- I2C master/slave
- UART - RS232
- LCD display driver, general menu controller
- Matrix button scanner
- Tachometer scanner
- DDRAM controller
- ADC interface
- DDRAM controller
- DVI interface
- DVI sync generator
- Colour wheel emulator

Image Compression Detection Technology (ICDT) (pat. pend.)
Firmware module for use in bandwidth limited applications, e.g. wireless video links. The ICDT module selects the optimum available compression algorithm for the incoming image material based on the information within the image and the instantaneously available channel bandwidth.
