Revolutionary advances in the development of LEDs and laser diodes with extremely high light output or a wide range of of different spectral characteristics have led to product concepts that were beyond imagination just only a few years ago. VISITECH’s engineers are strongly involved in new product developments and have been challenged by customers to integrate the features and benefits of the latest LED generations into light engines, and create a light source concept that reflects the needs for compactness, uniformity of illumination and flexibility for integration into different product applications.
The patented LEDBEAM® light source concept is the result. This versatile concept is scalable and allows installation of different numbers of LEDs/laser diodes into a single output aperture LEDBEAM® cavity and enables the combination of LEDs/laser diodes with different spectral characteristics. LEDs can be addressed and controlled individually or in groups. Sequential switching at variable and extremely short sequences provides ideal accommodation to a wide variety of applications. Internal light sensors in the cavity and feedback loops with external sensors allow precise modulation of uniformity and spectral output of the LEDBEAM® light source.
Patented LEDBEAM® Concept:
- LEDs or laser diodes are arranged in a housing so that they radiate into a highly reflective and diffusive cavity
- Light exits the cavity through an exit aperture
- Dimensions and shapes of cavity and exit aperture can be designed according to demand
- Exit aperture can be matched to precisely expose format of object (display etc)
- Separated or joint control electronics give high flexibility of driving schemes, sequentially or spectrally
